How VV247 handles recovery enquiries, AI chat and customer information.
Prepared 23 October 2026
Who we are and how to contact us
VV247 Recovery & Breakdown is a trading name of Fusix Limited (company number 11382396). Fusix Limited (VV247, we, us) provides vehicle recovery, breakdown assistance and vehicle transport and is the data controller responsible for the personal information used to manage enquiries and provide these services.
For privacy enquiries, email info@vv247recovery.co.uk or call 07428 001153.
Information we collect
Depending on the service you use, we collect your name, phone number, email address, collection and delivery addresses or postcodes, preferred timing, vehicle registration, make and model, condition, access requirements, passenger requirements and information you include in a message. Optional photographs may show the vehicle, damage or access conditions.
We keep enquiry references, estimates, agreed prices, booking status, payment references and status, invoices, correspondence, and records of acceptance of our terms. Our website and providers may also process IP addresses, browser and device information, cookies, usage information and security logs. We receive information directly from you, through website interactions, and from providers involved in delivering or processing the service.
Why we use information and our lawful bases
- Enquiries, estimates, bookings and service updates: to take steps you request before entering a contract, and to perform a contract with you.
- Payments, accounts and required records: to perform our contract and meet applicable legal obligations.
- Customer support, service administration, security and resolving disputes: our legitimate interests in operating a reliable business, protecting customers and defending legal rights, balanced against your rights.
- Optional marketing and non-essential cookies: consent where required by law. Service messages about a quote, collection or payment are separate from promotional messages.
If you arrange recovery for someone else, provide only the information needed for the job and make this notice available to that person. Avoid including passwords, full payment-card details, medical information or unrelated sensitive information in enquiries or chat.
Shopify AI-assisted chat
We use Shopify Inbox to provide AI-assisted chat on our website. Shopify processes customer information, including chat communications, to produce responses and improve the quality of its Inbox agent over time. Details you choose to include in a chat, such as your contact details, route and vehicle information, may form part of those communications. VV247 can review conversation history and respond to enquiries.
The AI uses information from our website and other store sources to answer questions. It may use available customer information to personalise responses. Shopify states that Inbox handles customer information separately for each store and does not share conversation data between different stores.
You can ask general questions without signing in. Requests involving a customer account or Shopify order information may require sign-in. AI replies can be inaccurate: a chat response or an estimated price does not confirm a recovery booking, final price or arrival time. VV247 must confirm those details. You can contact us by phone or email instead of using AI chat.
Read the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and use the Shopify Privacy Portal for information about Shopify processing and relevant privacy choices.
Route estimates, photographs and recovery operations
We use collection and delivery information to assess routes, estimate mileage and prices, check availability and plan the recovery. Postcodes and route coordinates may be processed by postcode and routing services. Vehicle condition, photographs and access details help us assess whether the job is suitable and what equipment is needed.
Where planned transport routes are listed, the listing uses general route and availability information. Customer contact details, submitted photographs and individual recovery requests are handled through our operational systems. We restrict operational access to authorised users.
Payments, notifications and tracking links
We use Shopify and payment providers to process secure payments. We receive payment references and status needed to manage invoices, deposits and balances. Enter payment-card details only into the secure payment page, rather than sending them through our quote form, SMS or AI chat.
We may send service messages by email or SMS to discuss your enquiry, confirm an accepted job, or provide a payment or customer-update link. Where customer tracking is activated for a job, its page may show recovery vehicle location, estimated arrival information and job status. Tracking depends on the feature being enabled and location information being available.
Payment and customer-update links can contain access tokens. Share them only with the intended recipient and contact us if a link has been shared in error.
Who receives information
We share information where needed with providers that operate the service: Shopify for the website, Inbox and payments; database and hosting providers including Supabase for recovery management; email and SMS delivery services, including SMSGate where enabled; and postcode, routing and mapping services for journey-related information. Providers receive information relevant to their function.
Information may also be shared with a recovery provider or other party involved in a job you ask us to arrange, or with professional advisers, insurers or authorities where necessary for a claim, legal obligation or protection of legal rights. If you choose to use an external communication or payment service, its privacy terms also apply to its processing.
Cookies and website technology
Our website and its providers use technology needed for functions such as security, sessions, chat and payments. Where optional analytics or advertising technology is used, consent is requested where required. You can use the available website privacy controls and your browser settings to manage preferences. Blocking essential technology may affect some functions.
Keeping information and international processing
Retention depends on the purpose of the record. Relevant factors include whether an enquiry is still being handled, whether a booking or payment remains open, accounting and tax obligations, complaint or insurance requirements, security needs and applicable time limits for legal claims. Photographs, location information and chat records should be retained only for the period justified by their purpose. Provider retention and deletion arrangements also affect records held in their systems.
Some providers may store or process information outside the United Kingdom. Where a restricted international transfer requires safeguards, the relevant arrangements must provide appropriate protection, such as an applicable adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards. Shopify explains its international processing arrangements in its privacy information linked above.
Security and your information rights
We use access controls and other measures intended to protect personal information. No system or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Some records may need to be retained to comply with law or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Contact us using the details above to make a request or raise a concern. We may need to verify your identity.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when our services or data practices change. We will update the date and give any further notice required.
